Popcue is software for turning the apps you already use into a place you learn from. It is a deliberate, small product. These terms say what you can expect from it and what we ask of you. They are an agreement between you and the operator named on the legal notice, and you accept them by creating an account.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Popcue. You sign in with Google, and you are responsible for activity under your account.

  • You must be at least 13. We ask for the month and year you were born when you create an account, and we do not create one for anyone younger.
  • If you are under 18, or under the age at which you can enter a contract where you live, you may use Popcue only with the permission of a parent or guardian, and you confirm that you have it. A parent or guardian who manages your Google account can also approve or decline Popcue in Google Play.
  • Keep your access key for any assistant connection secret. Anyone holding it can read and write your learning material through your account.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use Popcue, and do not ask its AI, to create, store or share anything that:

  • belongs to someone else and you have no right to use;
  • is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, invades another person’s privacy, including their bodily privacy, or harasses anyone on the basis of gender;
  • is harmful to children;
  • infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
  • deceives or misleads about where a message came from, or knowingly passes off false or misleading information as fact;
  • impersonates another person;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with other states or public order, or incites any offence or obstructs the investigation of one;
  • contains malware, or is designed to interfere with any computer or network;
  • promotes or enables violence, self-harm, or making weapons or drugs; or
  • breaks any law that applies to you.

And do not:

  • attack, overload, or probe the service, or get around the rate limits or the card limits in the free tier;
  • resell, rebrand, or redistribute the app, or present it as your own product;
  • use AI generation to produce content you then present as your own work where that would be a misrepresentation, such as in an exam.

What happens if these rules are broken. We can remove the content, and suspend or close the account. The law may have its own consequences for the person responsible. Content that sexually exploits a child, and other offences the law requires us to report, are reported to the authorities. Where we can, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right. We remind everyone of these rules in the app at least once every three months.

4. Your content

Your goals, notes, cards, ratings and images are yours. You keep all rights in them, and we claim none beyond the licence below. You must have the right to everything you put into Popcue, including the images you attach and the material you ask AI to work from.

You grant us a licence to host, process, transmit and display that content for the purpose of running the service for you: storing it, showing it back to you, generating cards from it when you ask, and displaying your name and scores on a leaderboard you have joined. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

If you believe something on Popcue infringes your copyright, the copyright policy explains how to tell us and what happens next. We close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly.

5. Reports, and how we moderate

  • Reporting. Anyone can report content they believe is illegal or breaks these terms, through the notice form. In the app you can report a project member, or an AI-written card, from where you see it.
  • Who decides. A person reads every report and decides what to do. We do not use automated tools to moderate what you create. The only automated rule is the one that stops our AI writing the content listed in section 3.
  • If we act on your content. We tell you what we removed or restricted, why, which rule or law it broke, and how to contest it, unless the law does not allow us to.
  • Contesting a decision. Reply to our decision, or use the form, and a person will look at it again. In India you can also appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee, and wherever you are you keep the right to go to court.

6. Cards written by AI

If you ask AI to write cards, a third-party model provider reads your goal and its source material, and writes cards from it. We instruct our provider to use only models that do not train on it. Every card AI wrote is marked as AI-written.

Generated cards can be wrong. They are a study aid, not an authority. If a card contradicts something that matters to you, the source you wrote is the one to trust, and the card should be corrected or deleted. Do not rely on generated cards for medical, legal, financial or safety information, and do not use Popcue as a substitute for a qualification you are required to hold.

If AI writes something offensive or harmful, report the card from the card itself. We use every report to improve what the AI is allowed to write.

7. Projects and leaderboards

A project is a small closed group you join by invitation or referral code. Joining shares your display name, an avatar colour, your streak, your points and your rank with the other members. It does not share your email address, your goals, or your card content. You can report another member from the leaderboard, and you can leave a project at any time.

Project content is not end-to-end encrypted. Members can see the shared figures described above, and whoever runs the service can access data in the course of operating it. Do not put anything sensitive in a display name.

8. Assistant connections

An assistant connection lets a third-party AI agent, at your instruction, read your goals and cards and write new ones. You grant that access deliberately and you can revoke it at any time. Once revoked, the stored key is destroyed and the connection stops working.

You are responsible for what you or your agent does through that connection. We do not review, approve, or take responsibility for actions taken by an agent using your key.

9. Subscriptions and payments

The free tier includes unlimited learning paths from your own tools, five active AI-written paths, every card type, streaks and stats. Pro adds unlimited AI-written paths, the starter-deck library, and instant streak recovery. Pro is optional, and nothing you made is ever deleted if you stop paying for it.

  • Before you pay. The app shows the price in your currency, how often you are charged, whether there is a free trial and how long it lasts, and that the subscription renews. You tick a box agreeing to those renewal terms before the purchase starts, and we keep a record of that.
  • Free trials. Where a trial is offered, Pro is free for the days stated. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged the price shown when it ends. Google Play emails you before a trial ends. Google Play decides whether an account is eligible for a trial.
  • Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price you agreed to, until you cancel.
  • Price changes. We will tell you at least 7 days, and no more than 30, before a new price applies to your subscription, and Google Play may also ask you to accept it. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before it applies.
  • How to cancel. On Android: in the Play Store, your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Popcue, then Cancel; or in the app, You, then Manage, then Manage in Play Store. On the web: in the app, You, then Manage, then Cancel subscription, or in your PayPal account. It takes a few taps, no email and no phone call. Cancelling stops all future charges; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app, or your account, does not cancel a subscription.
  • What we send you. An email with the terms of your subscription and how to cancel after you subscribe, and a reminder of them once a year.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by whoever took the payment, Google Play or PayPal, under their policies. We do not refund part of a period you have already started, except where the law requires it. Statutory rights of withdrawal or cancellation that apply to you cannot be excluded.
  • If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you can withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of the day you took it out, without giving a reason. Because Pro starts straight away at your request, withdrawing means you pay for the days you had it: nothing for days in a free trial, and a proportionate part of the price otherwise. To withdraw, request a refund in Google Play’s order history, or tell us through the request form.
  • Rewarded videos. Watching a short video may unlock something. It is optional, and it is not the only way to unlock it.

10. Availability and changes

Popcue is offered as it is. It is not an enterprise service, and we do not offer a service level agreement. We may change or remove features, and we will tell you before we remove something you are paying for. We will not retroactively move content you made onto a different product.

If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will tell you, in the app or by email, at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using Popcue and delete your account before then.

11. No warranty

Popcue is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that learning with it will produce any particular result.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else a consumer law makes non-excludable.

Subject to that, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, or anticipated savings, or for loss or corruption of data, however arising. Our total aggregate liability in relation to any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.

Nothing here affects your statutory rights under consumer law.

13. Ending this

You can stop using Popcue and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that infringes repeatedly, or that puts the service or another user at risk, and we will tell you why where we reasonably can.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination do survive, including liability, governing law, and the parts of the Privacy Policy about records we are required to keep.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. That choice does not take away any protection the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live gives you: if you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, India or anywhere else whose consumer law says so, those protections still apply, and you may bring proceedings in the courts, or before the consumer commissions, of the place where you live.
